A trophy for Rotocel and MGI
Italian printer Rotocel wins the 9e Digital label trophy, with MGI Digital Technology
On Thursday, March 18, 2021, the Palmarès des 9e The Trophées de l'étiquette numérique, organized by the French magazine Etiq & Pack, was unveiled at a live ceremony held at the Espace Saint Martin in Paris.
Every year, the Digital Label Forum organized by Etiq & Pack Magazine, brings together professionals from the sector - printers, converters, contractors, suppliers and machine builders - in Paris to review the past year in the industry, discuss technical and topical issues, and present the Digital Label Awards, a unique industry award.
This year, the Italian company Rotocel, a family-owned Italian printing house based in Bologna, founded in 1970 and managed by Catia Cantelli, renowned in Italy for the quality of its work, received the 9e Digital Label Award, in the "International" category.
This award recognizes a series of wine labels - Suadens Rosso - which seduced the jury members for their exceptional finishing, allowing the bottles to be distinguished instantly on the shelf.
Printed on HP presses, the widely marketed Suadens Rosso labels receive 3 successive coatings, i.e. two digital hot foils, one of which is holographic, and for certain series, a selective textured varnish in relief, all carried out on the MGI JETvarnish 3D Web digital finishing press of the printing house.
On the occasion of the awarding of this Trophy, the Jury highlighted the great quality and finesse of the hot gilding, and its perfect registration, which magnify a simple creation and a great purity.
It should be noted that during this ceremony, the MGI JETvarnish 3D Web digital finishing press was also highlighted in its Color+ version this time (i.e. equipped with a four-color toner unit), when the Autajon printing company won the 9th Digital Label Trophy in the "Variable Data" category, for a series of "Chauves-Souris" wine labels, whose printing and selective varnish were done in variable data, each label being different from the other.
