Fresnes, December 3, 2019 - Electronics printed directly on packaging, invented by MGI Digital Technology, seduced the jury of the Packaging Oscars by the disruption it brings to the packaging and packaging market.

Created in 1954, the Oscars of Packaging is one of the most prized industrial awards in Europe in the field of Packaging and Packaging. Each year, a jury composed of recognized industry professionals awards 24 Oscars to the most innovative materials, machines, technologies and packaging in the sector.

MGI, breakthrough technologies in Smart Packaging

This year, during the Packaging Oscars ceremony, which took place on November 25th in Paris, at the Elysée Biarritz, just a stone's throw from the Champs Elysées, MGI Digital Technology received the 2019 Oscar in the "Printing and Digital Technologies" category for its "Enhance your Brand" application.

Presented at Luxe Pack Monaco, "Enhance your Brand" consists in printing directly on packaging, an NFC antenna and printed circuits with a conductive ink, and then placing in pick & place a strip of LEDs, making it possible to make packaging luminous, without batteries.

Directly integrated on the packaging, these elements represent a disruptive innovation, whose objective is clearly to facilitate the mass distribution of communicating packaging.
