Talsu Tipogrāfija chooses MGI to develop its high-end packaging offering
The Latvian printer invests in an MGI JETvarnish 3D Evo B1 to strengthen its digital embellishment and packaging finishing capabilities. In a market where packaging must quickly catch consumers' attention, finishing quality is a key differentiator.
Talsu Tipogrāfija is now turning to MGI digital embellishment by investing in a B1-format JETvarnish 3D Evo, sold in partnership with Konica Minolta. Founded in Latvia in 1995 as a family business, Talsu Tipogrāfija has progressively specialized its operations.
Since 2011, the printing company has focused all its expertise on the packaging market. The arrival of MGI technology will enable it to expand its finishing possibilities, particularly for premium packaging and productions requiring greater visual and tactile differentiation.
Selective varnish and 3D effects for packaging
The MGI JETvarnish 3D Evo digitally applies spot UV varnish and creates 3D relief effects. Logos, text, patterns, or graphic elements can thus be highlighted without relying on traditional processes that require plates or specific dies.
This digital approach also provides greater industrial flexibility. Reducing set-up times helps limit paper waste and the consumables associated with production prep. At the same time, it facilitates short- and medium-run production, as well as the proliferation of versions and designs.
For brands, the objective is two-fold: achieving high-impact packaging at the point of sale while tailoring production quantities more precisely to actual needs.
With this new JETvarnish 3D Evo B1, Talsu Tipogrāfija reinforces its capabilities in digital packaging embellishment. MGI Digital Technology, alongside Konica Minolta, is supporting the Latvian printer in developing new applications that combine finishing, production flexibility, and reduced material consumption.
