Artificial intelligence applied to the textile digital was at the heart of the presentation made by MGI Digital Technology at the last Forum of Prints Luxury in Paris. An intervention that has brought to light a reality that is often overlooked : MGI has been a pioneer in the AI industrial for nearly ten years.
An AI built as early as 2016 in the JETvarnish
Well before the rise of media of the AI generative, MGI included as of 2016 the AIS SmartScanner in its presses JETvarnish 3D. The goal : to meet the challenge of a major industrial.
In finishing, the machine must compare in a few milliseconds the camera view, that contains the digital file and what is actually printed. With millions of data to analyze, a classic treatment was no longer enough.
The AI developed by MGI allows you to automatically identify visual cues, correct position, rotation or deformation and ensure a perfect agreement between the PDF and the rendering varnish or gold. It is intelligent algorithms replacing a human task that is repetitive, with a speed and reliability industrial.
The standardization of files in AI generative
At the Forum, MGI has also presented its strategic partnership with Adobe to structure the layers of finishing in the PDF files. This work gave birth to the project Goldsmith, unveiled at the PRINTING United Expo 2025 : automation of technical layers, native support for RIP and validation 3D via MGI Approve.
Thanks to Adobe Firefly, plans of varnish 3D, textures, gilding and technical layers can be generated automatically and can be used directly in production.
Predictive Maintenance and LLM internal
MGI has also detailed MGI Predict, solution AI capable of anticipating failures thanks to the data collected via MGI Connect.
Finally, LLM secure internal centralizes technical documentation, historical machines and reports to assist the teams via an interface, conversational style.
